Story Book
'No Hens in the Pen' written by Jean P Webster tells the charming story of Chrissie Cress and her friend Peter Parsnip as they search round City Farm for the missing essential ingredient for their cooking. It is beautifully illustrated by Valentina Cavallini. It is a story book for 'reading together' and talking about.
Organic Seeds
Organic Seeds are provided with growing ideas. These can be grown all year round inside in a small space and take about 8 days. These are easy to grow with a little adult help and can keep children interested in gardening in the winter and also provide fresh tasty vegetables when locally sourced greens are more difficult to find.
Recipe
Having grown the cress children can follow the recipe to cook the same ‘Mmmarvellously Mad Muffins' as Chrissie and Peter. Delicious!
Seed Agent Club
Young people are encouraged to join the on line Seed Agent Club and carry the Seed Agent Club card made of biodegradeable vegetable 'plastic'.
