Story Book
This story book is best enjoyed read together and out loud. Rudi Radish has always dreamed of winning Seed City's Battle of the Bands but this year he's not in a band and he thinks the Dirty Jackets are going to win again!
This book introduces children to the following vegetables: radishes, potatoes, parsnips, okra, spring onion and many more.
The story has themes of musicality, rhythm, competition.
Seed info
We encourage you to read the stories all year round not just when it's the season to sow or harvest. Radishes can be grown in small spaces. Sow late February - August. Harvest : April - Mid September. They will take 6-8 weeks to become wonderfully swollen and ready to eat..
Recipe
Having grown some radishes children are guided to create their own dips with a magic formula GOO + TASTE = DIP. Inviting friends round to help create dips and having a dip party can be a great way for children to explore different taste combinations.
Mark the spot!
We didn’t want the radishes to get lost whilst children wait for them to sprout out of the ground so we have provided 2 row marker sticks which can be named and decorated before use.
Seed Agent Club
It's free to join the Seed Agent Clubonline and to share experiences and exchange great growing tips and recipes. The Seed Agent Club card made of biodegradeable vegetable 'plastic' comes with Chrissie Cress or can be ordered separately online.
